BYOC Looker dashboards

These Looker dashboards show CelerData's BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) business at a glance: how many customers and clusters there are, how they're configured, how usage is moving over time, and what the alerting and AI triage pipeline is seeing.

Getting access

The dashboards live in Looker at celerdata.cloud.looker.com. Sign in with your CelerData account; if you can't see a dashboard, ask the Looker admin for access. Two of them (AI Issues and Alerts from Slack) also appear inside the BYOC Ops Console, on its Issues Pattern and Alerts Pattern pages.

The dashboards

DashboardWhat it answers
BYOC SummaryHow big is the fleet right now, and how are the clusters set up?
BYOC TrendsAre customers, clusters and usage growing week over week, month over month, quarter over quarter?
Customer CCU ComparisonHow does usage compare across up to five customers?
BYOC Auto-ScalingWho uses warehouse auto-scaling, and does it actually scale?
BYOC ConsumptionHow much does each cluster consume, recently and over time?
BYOC Free TrialsHow many clusters are free tier versus paid?
BYOC AI IssuesWhich issues has AI triage grouped from the alerts, and where?
BYOC Alerts (From Slack)Which alerts are firing, on which clusters, and when?

Working with a dashboard

  • Filters sit across the top. Each dashboard page here lists what its filters do and which charts they affect.
  • Click a slice or a bar to filter the rest of the dashboard to it (cross-filtering). Click it again, or remove its chip from the filter bar, to clear it. While a click-filter is on a field, the matching dashboard filter is greyed out until you clear the chip.
  • Click a number or a point for a menu of drills: the rows behind the number, or (on BYOC Trends) what changed since the previous period.
  • Tabs (Summary/Clusters, Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly) are separate views of the same dashboard and share its filters.
  • The circular arrow re-runs the charts. If a dashboard's layout or filters changed, reload the browser page to see it.

How fresh is the data?

Billing is recorded every hour and normally reaches the dashboards within seconds. Occasionally the upstream feed pauses; charts then simply stop at that point without any warning. Dates are in Pacific time. See Limits for this and other things worth knowing before you quote a number.
